Great lunch! Handled a party of 11 with no problems! The cheese grits with shrimp was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The fried grouper was excellent!!! The oysters al fuego were also to die for!!!
Don't forget to wash up after eating because the sea kelp soap was devine!
Two thumbs up! -

It's been awhile since I've been back this way. I grew up in Hinesville. I had to pick up my grandma in Florida and drive her back to Texas. So on my road trip back to Texas, I decided to come for a quick visit... and well there was a damn hurricane blocking my normal way home.
What was a good place to eat could've changed in 15-20 years (Pelicans point, Buccaneers..etc) so many friend told me to come here because it was sooo good.
I shouldn't have listened. We got the crab dip. It was okay. I got the flounder and crab cake platter. Flounder was bland and dry. The crab cake was also bland. The waitress had a shitty attitude. Kids asked for more sweet tea and she acted like it was the last thing she wanted to do. -

I can't count the number of times I've eaten at Skippers. It is well worth the slight detour from I-95 to enjoy a sit-down seafood meal that never ceases to please.
My favorite is the shrimp platter. Starting the meal with the shrimp dip and crackers is a great way to begin the meal. Every dish I have ordered has been prepared to perfection. Breading on those dishes prepared fried is lightly coated with seasoning that compliments the dish.
I like to eat in the outside bar area where they allow my dog to join me during the meal.
****One tip, call ahead to ensure they are open, in particular, the bar area. Once made the trek from I-95 to find it was closed because of a special event. Another time they had suffered a lightning strike and were closed. I will fast all day just to eat at Skippers. Enjoy! -

I had the flounder combo with shrimp, and it was hands down some of the most delicious seafood I have ever eaten. The atmosphere is laid back and casual, the wait staff is attentive and the seafood is cooked perfection. The views from the back porch are wonderful, and the pirate ship adds to the ambiance. I highly recommend this place.

We stopped by on our way back home to ATL. This place was pretty far off the highway. My friend googled that this place had 1600 reviews so we had to try it.
We sat outside on the patio which was dog friendly. The view from the patio is really beautiful. You can check out the waters, boats, and wildlife. There's even a turtle pool that the patio overlooks.
Anyway- we ordered oysters (which came out before our drinks) Then we got the catch of the day sandwich and a shrimp salad (which came out before our silverware). Not a dealbreaker. The server made up for all the hiccups with a complimentary order of hush puppies.
Over all great food and service! Glad we stopped by!
